Irish uilleann pipes are perhaps the most complex and sophisticated bagpipe in the world, and their haunting sounds have graced many a wedding, and soothed many a soul at funerals. Unlike the louder Scottish highland pipes, the uilleann pipes are far more mellow, and at home both indoors and out. If you're looking for the chap with the cute knees marching up and down, that's not me, as the Irish piper neither marches nor wears a kilt -- the uilleann pipes are played sitting down.
